Wisdom from George Cardinal Pell

I try to be grateful, as I remember the parable of the ten cured lepers, where only one returned to Jesus to say thanks. I am sure the others were also grateful, but were busy and distracted. Failing to say thanks is a mark of immaturity; saying thanks is something young children have to be taught. Not giving thanks is a mark of serious adult selfishness.

WHEN YOU MAKE PRISON AN EXTENDED RETREAT

Jailed in Australia on false accusations, the late Cardinal Pell filled notebook pages with his spiritual insights, prison experiences, eloquent personal reflections on current events inside and outside the Church, and moving prayers. This is the second volume of a three-part prison diary.
